About this blog

This is the blog for the Department of Geography at the National University of Ireland Maynooth (NUIM). We’re located in Maynooth, a university town in County Kildare, Ireland.

NUI Maynooth has about 8,000 students; geography is one of its largest departments. We teach about 1,000 under-graduate students each year and we have numerous post-graduate students located in Geography or in one of our off-shoots (NIRSA, NCG, or ICARUS).

Our plan is to use this blog as a means to keep an eye on the world. We plan to post stories about geography in the news, geographers in the news, news stories that are particularly geographic, or stories we feel should connect with a large swathe of our student body at NUI Maynooth.

Please bookmark our page and feel free to comment.
